Pagoda Writers Circle

Encouragement and Inspiration

Coming Up

🙋Just another message for our Pagoda Writers🏯

Dear Pagoda Writers and new attendees,

Our next gathering will be on Saturday, October 16th from 1 to 3 p.m. at Barnes and Noble on Broadcasting Road. They are so kind as to let us use the space by the large windows so come with your writings, poems, ideas and don't forget your pens too...🖊📖 !

I encourage you all to bring your favorite quote and the writer, poet, musician or other person who wrote it...it could be a famous actor or a spiritual leader...whoever may have first inspired you in your life. If you have a brief piece to share we welcome that as well. We all have our own history and valuable thoughts to share so please don't hesitate to participate especially if you are a new member. We are a unique group of creative souls!

Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions...I prefer using my cell rather than checking my email but either one will do...just be sure to leave your phone number so I can get back to you if I miss your call.

Bring a friend and spread the word if you wish...all are welcome and I would appreciate an RSVP so I can make sure there is enough seating available.

"If there is a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." -Toni Morrison

"One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple."
-Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums

"You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write." Saul Bellow

For those of you who haven't heard...my dear Mom, Mary Jane (Painter) Thompson, WWII Veteran with the OSS as a codebreaker 🌍🗽in North Africa and Italy, will be inducted into the Berks County Military Hall of Fame at a celebration at Wilson High School on Saturday, November 6th from 3:30 to ? It's a dinner/dance and tickets are available at Boscovs and the VA office on Cherry Street in Reading for $15.00 each. All are welcome! Mom loved her hometown and served with distinction for three years overseas and came home to graduate with honors from Albright College which was her dream to attend there. She completed two years there and then volunteered to serve her country but came back safe and sound to complete her studies and graduate as the Editor of the Cue, Albrights yearbook 1947! Mom served Veterans the rest of her life as Commander, Quartermaster, Treasurer, etc... of Post 8993 on Carsonia Avenue in Stony Creek Mills down in the Pennside area and around the state of Pennsylvania...

Hope to see you all soon🤗

Sincerely,

Linda Marie (Thompson) Thomas aka L.T. James
